With the Z, you've got a proper two-seater with rear-wheel drive, 300-plus horsepower, seductive styling, petite dimensions, big wheels and a curb weight under 3,300 pounds. It's seductively priced, too, starting right around $30,000. Of course, like many transitions from dream to reality, the real-world Z isn't perfect. Power comes from a tuned version of the company's 3.7-liter motor, offering 350 horsepower at 7,400 rpm -- an increase of 18 hp over the standard model. Peak torque is 276 pound-feet at 5,200 rpm -- 6 lb-ft more than the regular 370Z.It is more or less identical to its hardtop sibling in features and specifications, so you still get the same 247kW (332hp) V6 engine and your choice of a seven-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.
